On February 18th, 2005, Union won its first two awards in the company’s three-year history, taking home two Addy’s from the Charlotte Ad Club’s annual Addy Awards Show. The awards ceremony, held in the McGlohon Theatre of Spirit Square in Uptown Charlotte, boldly introduced Union to the Charlotte advertising and design community. Union received a Gold Addy Award for their work with MediaComm, the region's largest film and audio-visual production facility. Union latched onto a strong concept in which each facet of the company was represented as a different element of a storm. Every aspect of the website, from the text to the iconic imagery and immersive sound, reinforced the initial concept behind the project.
For their work on a 20-page media kit designed for Steelroots, a Christian ministry based around the action sports scene, Union received a Silver Addy Award. Throughout the media kit, Union showcased the company’s multifaceted approach and highlighted the spirit of Steelroots’ message.
