Sometimes it’s worth reminding ourselves that things like Steve Carell’s departure from The Office, the end of March Madness, or Netflix instant streaming outages aren’t exactly the epic tragedies we make them out to be. Less than a month after the 9.0 earthquake in Japan, the news cycle and daily life continues on and the millions of people affected by the disaster remain in need.

To that end, our friends at BooneOakley approached our team to help launch JapanSaver.com, a site that features a free, downloadable screensaver designed to sustain awareness and encourage donations to the earthquake and tsunami victims in Japan. The site also includes a link that allows visitors to donate directly to the American Red Cross, as well as Facebook and Twitter sharing options to tap into the viral power of social media and spread this important message with friends and family.

“Our hearts go out to the people of Japan and the others who survived the recent earthquake and tsunami,” said Kate Meier, American Red Cross’ Regional Communications Director. “With efforts like JapanSaver.com, people are reminded that they can help the American Red Cross meet the immediate and long-term needs of earthquake and tsunami survivors in Japan.”
